With one day left for the Jio Phone beta tests to begin, it seems to be on the top of everyone’s mind. Jio 4G feature phone bookings are going to start from the 24th of August and will be delivered on a first come first serve basis. There might be a lot of questions going through your mind regarding the documents required for the process and whether the booking has to be done online or offline.
A set of customers will be selected for beta testing but how the company is going to select these customers is not known. The phone will be available for pre-booking from 24th August and delivery of phones will start in the month of September. Since the phone is being launched at a price of Rs.0, its demand is surely sky high. Therefore, to evade the mad rush here are some tips on how to pre book your Jio Phone.
Reliance Jio Phone Offline and Online Booking
All you need to do is-visit the official site of Jio, i.e. jio.com and click on the phone placard; you will see a ‘Keep Me Posted’ button. Users have to fill in their personal details like name, phone number, email-id as wells as pin code. Once the details are filled the customer will be updated with an SMS and an email about the status of their phone.
Even without an internet connection you can pre book your Jio handset, all you need to do is-walk in to a Jio store and register. Provide your basic details like name, phone number, email-id and pin code. However, one should keep in mind that they will not have their handset before September in any case.
Jio Phone Pricing
Though it looks like the effective price of the phone is Rs.0, there’s a catch on the price. Initially, you need to pay Rs.1500 as a security deposit which will be refunded only after 3 years. To claim the deposit you will need to return the phone.
Jio phone Specifications
Reliance 4G feature phones will be available in 2 variants, one with a Spreadtrum chip-set and the other with a Snapdragon 205 processor. The handset will also have a torchlight button and an alpha numeric keypad. It can be operated via voice command and will be available in at least 24 regional languages and will be pre-loaded with all the Jio Apps. The only drawback is that it doesn’t support the Whats-app application; some reports suggest that it will have a special version of Whats-app, made for Reliance 4G phones.
