Unlike the twentieth century when news of tat’ de ‘coup governments was a likely and normal task, we now live in a world run by the free will of the citizens. But today when we hear about military takeovers, anywhere around the world, it is a sickening thought filled with utmost sadness. While every person on this earth wishes to live a life of his own free will, these takeover governments not only kill the thought of freedom in the citizens but also take away the rights any citizen deserves. It is not a fact to be shocked about if the recent happenings in Zimbabwe are being termed as yet another coup takeover of the lawfully running government.
How do we know that a coup is happening? Well, there is not yet discovered another term to link to the situation in Zimbabwe. The military has seized all the key institutions of the state, including the state broadcaster. The president of the political bloc, Alpha Conde is genuinely tensed for the seemingly ‘coup’ political situation happening in his nation. Alpha Conde has been calling out for all the liable stakeholders to get into action and take the situation under control, as soon as possible, before any rights of citizens are violated.
Zimbabwe, as we know about it, has had a long history with a disturbed political situation. It is truly disturbing to see a country in a nearly democratic world, still fighting for its own free will. While the media and human right activists all around the world can sense the situation going towards an inevitable military ‘coup in Zimbabwe, the armed forces have the courtesy to claim it as ‘not a coup’ move.
According to the military, it is only trying to target the ‘criminals’ who were a threat to the safety of the president, Mugabe. It is remarkable to note that Mugabe has been the only president of the nation since its independence from being a forced British Colony. Even though the current happening makes it look like a coup, since. The military has reasons concerning the president; it will be too early to pass a comment on a country’s own safety program. But is this the right way to ensure a president’s personal life happenings? The citizens of Zimbabwe are anyway facing issues with their own safety amidst this military interference. Well, who is to believe in this ongoing situation? The facts that these trends lead to an ultimate coup or the army itself giving reasons behind its actions. Time is to justify this question.
