Space research institutes which are very popular throughout the world find interesting information about stars, space, planets and sun. NASA which involve seriously in space mission send rockets, satellites, shuttle and other equipment to deep space for exploration works. There are interesting things which are happening in cosmos and scientists are developing advance rockets that will fly to farthest stars. There are clusters of stars in the space and some stars send magnetic waves and other types of radiations.
A collapse in neutron star:
These types of stars which send powerful magnetic fields and dangerous radiations like gamma and alpha are called magnetars. When in a supernova, a star collapses to a neutron star its magnetic field increases drastically which is millions of times more than what is formed above the earth. The flood of gamma and x-rays that comes out of supernova or magnetars stars is quadrillion times stronger than that of an Earth. Such is the force of magnetic fields that emits from these types of stars which are millions of kilometres away from the earth.
Severe radiations and magnetic field were emitted from these types of dangerous stars during 27th Dec. 2004. It is interesting to note that these magnetic fields were detected by several satellites and one such satellite namely swift which was sent to detect these types of dangerous rays faced major technical problems when these rays stuck it badly. Visitors should understand that these nova stars send extremely fierce energy which has the ability to damage nearby objects in split seconds. Luckily the rays and waves have not stuck the earth since there is protective field in the upper atmosphere. But when the gamma and x-rays were stuck most of the satellites where were revolving on the earth’s atmosphere were several damaged.
Scattering energy waves forms crust:
Magnetars are dense remnants of a supernovae explosion. When star quake happens extreme magnetic energy will erupt from the crust and severe energy waves will spread on the star. In a blink of an eye the eruption gave off as much energy as the sun does in a quarter of a million years. Magnetar waves are extremely dangerous which sends 2.5 million photons per second. But the good news is that these types of magnetic waves happens far away from the earth and has not happened very near it. These types of celestial events take place rarely and leave behind devastating effect. The latest star quake which happened 2004 is one of the powerful blasts which occurred seven thousand light years away.
Astronomers are still studying about these types of magnetic fields and the destructions that they have left behind. Imagine what will happen when such enormous magnetic force occurs near the earth. Almost everything on this earth will be washed it out in split seconds. Supernovae explosions are uncommon and happen very rarely. Since most of the quakes have happened several light years there was no damage to NASA space stations, satellites and other equipment which are functioning in the space.
