Engineers in China were working hard to make a new invention which is kept the innovations to break records, the convention of China continues. The world’s largest telescope has been made through this innovation that is proficient in dealing with gravitational waves, dark matter and fast radio bursts or signals. It has also specialised to communicate with aliens.
It has launched in 25th September 2016 with a great initiative of exploring the space opportunities with aliens. Nan redong is the chief scientist who is handseling this project named as Five hundred meter aperture spherical radio telescope (FAST) here. As per the engineering point of view it’s world’s greatest invention.
FAST is breaking the new base in radio astronomy by a great design which pulls a part of the spherical dish into a moving parabolic to track and follow earth rotation.
The reason Nan has stated in the various interviews that he does not care about science is that although it was going to launch, it hasn’t prepared as it was planned.
Nan redong is the sole leader who has handled this project from the start to the end. We can have an idea about Nan’s hard work on this project by knowing about his undergraduate days where he has spent over a decade working with an electronic factory. Then he made his PhD counts from China with the University Science and astronomy.
A Chinese scientist has done the primary work on FAST. It has built with the single dishes that excel at observing point such as neutron and scanning of frequencies which came to know while getting into the more research of extra-tresserial intelligence. This fact has been provided by the astronomer li di that has done work with NASA at California as well.
The Chinese specialist such as George Hobbs further adds that the another good advantage of using single dishes as compared to multiple dishes are that they are cheaper and more straight forward to have an up gradation.
In 2007, after the report and analysis by an international review panel, China’s national development and reform commission provided $90 million for this project.
When it comes to building the FAST, Nan already had an idea about where to build this project and he knows that it won’t be that much easy. The site which he has chosen is best for the development of FAST but worst for the construction. It was in the middle of the nearest highway with narrow roads and tiny villages located near to the project. The FAST team has turned it into a successful way by building a road from 7 km to the nearest village. All work in the satellite has to be done by the team members manually. He further added that as we compare this construction to building a bridge into Beijing that would be a cake walk for the makers.
FAST has been built with karst depression and it was supported to steel cable meshes. Just like the Arecibo telescope, it has the rare capability of receiving incoming radio waves.
There haven’t any clear signs for the alien communications but it has got some of the serious and very important facts through its launch which is contributing the Chinese scientists to work on its objective closely.
